Hi, I’m an Artist, living in Jacksonville FL. I’m preparing to take my next direction in artist development. In the past I’ve gone to different parts of the country and stayed 1-2-3 years, studying, researching, working, changing.
Now I intend to go, “ Full on Nomad” and stay on the road for as far as the path takes me. To do this I need a, “ rolling studio”. So a class C, Motor home, or small to mid sized schoolie is in order. (20 to 26 Foot)
Being an Artist, I of course have very little money. To fund the start of this journey I’m selling off all non-essentials and existing Artwork. After that I’ll be doing artwork on the road, and selling it when, and where opportunity allows. Maybe pick a few tunes on the town square, or work a, (gulp!) traditional job if need be.
Back to the transportation issue, perhaps there is a Patron of the Arts, with such a motor home they would sell on the cheap.
If indeed you are one of those generous people, please take a look at my work, http://tribes.tribe.net/badartdog and consider my 2-3 year project.
I would also of course be willing to trade artwork, lots of artwork! My web site has about half of my body of work at this writing.
Thank you for reading my post,

The Hormel Center at the San Francisco Public Library
100 Larkin Street, 3rd Floor
FREE & Open to the Public
September 12 -- December 2, 2009

Famed fashion & art photographer Victor Arimondi was known for his unique eye and sensuous style. This is the first major retrospective of his work since his death from AIDS/HIV in 2001
www.victorarimondi.net

If a picture is worth a thousand words then the iconic images of photographer Victor Arimondi (www.victorarimondi.net) are an unfinished epic: a tone poem that blurs the boundaries of fashion and art, and delves into realms of the sensual, the celebratory and society’s disenfranchised. In the first major retrospective of the artist’s work since his death from AIDS/HIV in 2001, A Compassionate Eye: The Work of Victor Arimondi explores the incredible breadth of the internationally-acclaimed photographer often compared to – but lesser known than – such contemporaries as Mapplethorpe, and Bianci. The exhibit runs through December 2 at the James C. Hormel Gay & Lesbian Center of San Francisco’s Main Public Library (100 Larkin Street, 3rd Floor). Entrance to the exhibit is free and open to the public.

Part of New York’s heady “pop art” era, Arimondi started as a fashion model before turning the lens on his former life often citing his admiration for the work of Avedon as one of his inspirations. Born in Italy in 1942, it was in Sweden that Arimondi was discovered while working as a laborer. Soon, his rough-hewn beauty made him one of Europe’s most popular regulars in print and on the runway, an experience which led him to his ultimate career. His varied palette and incredible output – with more than 3000 photos -- included male nudes, high fashion treatments, photo montages and later documenting the plight of the homeless and the onslaught of AIDS / HIV. When he died in his adopted home of San Francisco on July 24, 2001, his face and work had graced most of the world’s top fashion publications and several books, now collectors’ items.

“My approach to photography has never been causal,” Arimondi once said. “Since I posed in front of the camera so many years, my experience with talented photographers made me realize a way to express my inner world. My approach to beauty is dominated by my classical background and European style. I came to this country to further develop my style and spirit – I believe that I have been faithful to my ideal.”

As you probably know, I'm good at some things and lousy at others. One of the things I'm lousy at is persuasion. Because I'm so lousy at persuasion, I can't persuade people to buy my comics. Since that's the case, I've determined that I should ask a more persuasive person to persuade people to buy my comics. Are you that more persuasive person? My guess is that you are. My inability to persuade is so horrendous that it seems like anybody and everybody is more persuasive than I am.

Whatever the case, I need to get in contact with a more peruasive person to help get more people interested in my comics. If this persuasive person can persuade peple to buy my comics, I promise to share a percentage of the money I make from getting my comics sold. It's only far. And as you may know, I'm really into fairness.

Anyway, please help me find that persuasive person or persons I need to help make my comics profitable.

Native American Performing Arts Initiative

As most of us know, is there a raising global need for diversity programming in our communities nationwide…this need has brought us to a threshold of many treasures and wide spanning programming, such as Ethnic and Cultural diversity festivals, different ethnic history months, to celebrate the diversity of this Nation, and all of it’s inhabitants…

We have Black History Month, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, Hispanic History Month, Cinco de Mayo, we are celebrating with a Puerto Rican Day parade annually in NYC, different ethnics have their prides and cultures represented in several ways, from days, to events to parades and Festivals such as the African American Cultural festival…we are educating our children on different holidays and cultures, such as Ramadan, Passover, Kwanza, just to name a few, we can go through neighborhoods, and clearly see, take in and taste our cultural diversities, as the growing number of merchants and businesses clearly and visibly show themselves to be openly available…
Even on Network Television, is this a now very normal phenomena…to see Bollywood programming, Italian news, Hispanic Network Television, Japanese game shows, Black Entertainment Networks etc. America has grown open and outwardly diverse and is clearly growing more so with each passing day…

But…

What about the Indigenous Ethnic group that is from this very soil, the Native American?

Native American culture is the very root of the United States existence, it’s contribution is the foundation literally speaking of the very soil that feeds all inhabitants of the United States, we built our homes on, run our businesses on, raise our families on…it is a Culture, of great history, noble, spiritually induced with deeply impacting reasoning’s, a Culture, that is beautiful, and courage’s, filled with a history of pride, and sadness…there are stories, languages, dances, foods, reasoning’s to be shared, it’s educational value is insurmountable…

So how is it, that most don’t know when American Indian Heritage month is, or how come that Diversity Programming, Entertainment, Events & Festivals hardly or sparsely include Native Americans?

How can this be? More so what can be done to change this?

Let’s start here and now to do just that…to do something about it and change it…

Allow yourself, along side of many Native Americans to bring this awareness into your area and help us in a combined effort, to stream this outwardly,

In the following will I leave you with certain information, to give you a taste of what has been missing within any community line up of programming arts, educational manifestos, and also describe, just how not only educationally stimulating but profitable this could proof to any venue recognizing this, and adding Native American Cultural Programming to their scheduled annual line-up.

Let’s begin by looking at this coming November…

We, as a Nation are at the threshold of making History within our Presidential Election in November 2008…who would have ever thought even 25 years ago that we as a Nation would actually witness the day where a minority and man of color is not only running for the presidency, but has a chance of becoming this Nations first African American President…
add to that, that November, also rings in the Holiday season, which every child is looking forward to, with the onset of Thanksgiving, a holiday directly linked to the Native American Culture and this countries recorded history ( however how many do actually know what that very day represents to Native Americans?…

You put these ingredients together and add wanting to have Native Americans perform & educate possibly in November 2008, and of course throughout the year, showcasing their art, dances, storytelling, music, etc. and all of this in their traditional way and dress, imagine…but also allowing for the native American to clearly exist in the here and now, within modern times and achievments!

What child, what family, what person, would not be completely taken in by this wonderful experience leading into, of the Holiday Season and beyond…also now paving a passage, for things to fall into place, for other things to come to neighborhoods throughout the country and abroad.

Such as annual festivals, that will include Native American culture by hosting possible Pow Wows at College / University Campuses, or park systems Nationwide…exposing patrons, to the ways from long ago of the people Indigenous to United States, their history, foods, dances, drumming, arts and crafts etc.

This type of programming is sure to draw crowds…also is this type of programming completely family friendly, as no Native American gathering allows for alcohol, or substances,

Which now brings me to this, from a business margin, is the profitability extremely high, as Native American culture has a novelty appeal, and oddly enough this appeal seems to be highest in the International markets…Moccasins are for instance a fashion statement…being revived into modern fashion almost every 2 years, as so with this year again…New Age Stores since their sprouting stages ongoingly draw profit on Native American herbs, such as sweet grass braids, sage and novelties for instance.

The music of the Native American is considered the number 1 Ambient Music globally speaking, specifically anything involving the flute…
Western décor has a wide spread international appeal from furnishings to blankets, so with western art, paintings, and Jewelry…which most of the jewelry that is available in stores such as silver and turquoise for instance, does not come from real Indian craftsmen.

At this point allow me to also educate a bit on how these types of events could actually also help Native Americans that perform, craft art etc. most people like with the rest of the above do not know, that the Native American is the lowest economically ranked Minority within this country,

It is a statistical fact that all of this Nations poorest places to live are all on Indian Reservations, meaning literally that today in 2008 there are places within this country where hundreds and hundreds of miles are in conditions that are classic to Third World Conditions which I have taken the liberty to add some web links pertaining to this to give examples in the following materials.

A lot of Native American Artists use their income; to help their families that are still living on these reservations…a lot of Native American artists, feed their children with the money generated from their dancing, drumming, craftsmanship’s etc. as it being a true way of life, and more times then not the only source of income…

This country, offers very little if anything at all, to not only +shine a light onto that part of this nations history, which the Native American is more so a part of then any other ethnic in this Nation, but it also would be very capable to uplift situations, that call for action, by funding that could be secured thru these types of programming and events.

Every journey begins with one step, and everyone will be remembered by the tracks that they leave…both of these are Native American wisdoms that are a motivating factor for me to try to bring awareness, with your help…

I now invite you to take a look at the following information thru web links, and also bios…
Allow yourself to take a journey into the lives of Native Americans, and consider how wonderful it could be to from time to time, have this available for people in our neighborhoods, your neighborhood to enjoy…

Most of the country does NOT implement native American Culture into diversity Programming…click thru you local channels on TV and check your local line-up at your Universities, Public Theaters and Media venues…and you will quickly find, that unless you are within a area where there is a “considered high number of Natives” programming is non existing or sparse at best!

To change this contact your local venues, ask them what they have planned for This November…ask your local cable provider, why there is no channel dedicated to Native American programming…ask your local Radio and TV station what their plans are to educate and pay tribute to the Native American…

If you are taken in by this, and if you feel, especially after having watched some of the videos about the Reservations…that you can agree with me…that Diversity must include those that called this place home long before many of us did…then please, pay it forward and if you like, contact me, and work with me and my many Native American brothers and sisters…to get their talent and uniqueness into ANY part of this country…

These however being just a very small fraction of what can be presented, and what is available, there are artist, that tell, stories, dance, sing, drum, act, craftsmen and craftswomen, painters….the list is a beautiful winding path of endlessness…
Please consider the possibilities, and open your venues, budgets and media spaces for printed coverage to bring this part of history, diversity and culture to the fore.
To take part in AO|08 Go Here- http://www.artoutside.org/

Ladies and gentlemen of the art world, we are seeking any and all creative humans who use their skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others. That is, we are looking for those whose life is art, and everything they do is DIY. We are searching for those who are creating the Hand-Made Nation. We are calling !ALL! make-believers, dreamers and reality re-arrangers. We are searching hi and low for lowbrow-urban-contemporary-pop-surrealism, pop art, op art, hard-edge, lyrical abstraction, post minimalism, which might be interpreted by some to mean that we are looking only for painters, but that is most definitely not the case. For you see, of course, we need masters of typography, sketchers, illustrators, satirical stencilers, screen printing is way cool, and yes, you too, graffiti fools. Least we forget every culture jammer in the hood. Do you manipulate earth/land/sand/plants/junk into art? Then we have a home for you.

Now, we know some of you may be thinking “What about Dadas’ Dadaists, though?” To this we say, but of course we are calling all inspired by DADA- for where would art be without fluxists, productivism, neoplasticism, pittura, metafisica, arbeitsrat and bauhaus. Well, we are looking for all of “you” from then and now, if any of you still are around. And one may wonder… What about the cubists? We say, “But of course.” Conceptualists? Indeed. Installationists? Please! One might ask if we are seeking anything that might fall under postmodernist modernist who are not distracted by abstractionists and other IST’S. Of course there is always impressionism, post-minimalism, pre-contemporaryism, and expressionism. Are you working in symbolism or surrealism or any of the other -isms that we have not yet mentioned? Well come on out. But wait that’s not all, that could not possibly be all this call for ARTE is all about? Well, Dali you’re right,

This call goes out to all kinetic sculptors, fire sculptors, sound artists bending invisible waves, and video projectionists playing with light. We must invite the minds of the poets and their spoken slam voices, along with improv comedians who mimic the true history of time. Or was that the klown? How can we forget about the klowns! Mimes? Performers “performing” art, puppeteers with their puppets, musicians making sounds. Oh, and least we forget outsider artists wanting to be outside.

In short, we invite all the conceivable movements, modes, and theories of art known to wo/man kind. We say to you, the Artisans of the world who wish to unite because the world needs ART, because the world’s not right. It is time, Your window of opportunity is now. Our space is your blank canvas. Your dreams are our inspiration. You and your art are invited to take part in this epic artistic endeavor.

The world may be going to hell… So let’s make some art.

Artists, Models, and Other Creatively-Wired Individuals,
We are putting together a group of people interested in honing their life drawing and/or modeling skills.
As there will be no official teacher for the class this is meant for people who are comfortable being self-directed artists. However, if you wish, people of varying skill levels and experience can help and guide each other.

MODELS:
We value diversity so all types of models are encouraged to join regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity, body type. Ideally we would have a good mix of different kinds of models as well as artists
Sundays: 11:00 AM-8:00 PM

Ideally we would like to have a sizable group or groups that meet regularly so that we can make it worthwhile for everyone involved.

If you are interested please let me know:
1. If you are a model, artist, or both
2. You schedule preferences

If you know other people that might be interested please pass this along to them. If you have any further questions please contact me at my email or tribe.
My work is featured in this awesome book, Buy yours today $45 +tax SH from www.joemangrum.com and get a signed copy (personalized if you include your name etc. Its a very timely topic , climate change, funny how nobody is asking about it to our presidential hopefuls??
lets get the word out on climate change!

heres the details

In the environmental realm, science and art are inextricably linked. While science determines how we measure the health of our planet, art allows us to visualize our relationship to the natural world. Art in Action collects creative interpretations of the state of out planet in word and image by seventy-nine artists. These varied pieces express a profound appreciation for all species and landscapes, explore our natural world lost, despaired and reconstructed and describe the fantasy of paradises anew and gone awry.

From the expansive vision of Christo to the enlightened power of Olafur Eliasson, the art speaks to us in as many ways as there are artists. Each chapter asks us to celebrate, reflect, interact, protect and act, demonstrating the vast and rich web of life and the interconnectedness of it all. No book can change the natural world. But these stories and photographs can build awareness, the first critical step in changing our collective story from one that exploits and destroys nature for the benefit of humankind to one that nurtures and values the natural world.

Mia Hanak is the Founding Executive Director of the Natural World Museum, an organization committed to inspiring sustainable culture through the arts in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). She leads the team that produces the innovative Art for the Environment global exhibition series. She has been nominated by the American Association of Museums as a ?Museum Leader for the Next Generation.? She currently resides in San Francisco.

Randy Rosenberg is an artist and has also curated many art collections for international organizations including The World Bank, the International Finance Corporation and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Her traveling exhibitions include: The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama and Envisioning Change; Attitudinal and Climate.

I think there's a cartoonist glut. Of course that's an opinion, so I don't exactly have proof. But my experience (and the experences of others) seems to indicate that there is a glut of cartoonists. Consider the cartoon syndication example. As I understand it, cartoon syndicates only select two or three new comics a year. And they usually choose those few comics out of thousands of submissions. Thus only a tiny percentage of cartoonists will get syndicated while the vast majority will never get syndicated. You'd have much better chances winning the lotto.

I've concluded that the best way to mitigate the cartoonist glut is through the Internet. Unike a newspaper which only has room for 20 or 30 comics, the Internet has room for millions of comics. There are billions of web sites after all. But it's not quite as easy as that since you have to go through the difficulty of finding the web site or web sites that will publish your comic. Even so, you have a better chance of getting a comic published on the Internet than you have of winning the lotto. And you have a far, far, far, far better chance of getting a comic published on the Internet than you have of or getting your comic syndicated.

The show will run from October through December 2007 and there will be a Gala Opening on Sunday, Oct 21, from 3pm - 6pm.

For several years now I have been shooting the fabulous and gorgeous live models who grace the front windows of the Dark Garden Corsetry, (http://darkgarden.com), booth at the Dickens Fair, (http://dickensfair.com). I occasionally take a paraphelia shot - a picture of a boot, or a glove or the like.

In fall of 2006, I walked up to the window to shoot a picture of a model's boot, (and her single tail whip), and what with standing not two feet away from her, albeit separated by a pane of glass, I found myself embarrassed to be so obviously shooting her boot.

I noticed my embarrassment, backed up for a few seconds, and then proceeded to shoot the boot anyway. But the experience got me to thinking about how it's socially acceptable to shoot some parts of a person but not other parts and how shooting certain parts can be perceived as offensive.

So I challenged myself to take at least one shot of each model that did not include her eyes. The photographs included in this show are the result of that self challenge.

Folk Artists are said to be un-trained visionaries. One might look at a piece of folk art as childish. However, the fact is many art collectors search for this very quality for their galleries today. It is considered one of the purest forms of art. It is considered to be an un-adulterated look into culture and life. In this tribe we hope to collect and arrange our own gallery and learn the names of some of the world’s most amazing folk artists

Pop art is a visual artistic movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. The term was used by British art critic/curator, Lawrence Alloway.[1] Pop art is one of the major art movements of the twentieth century. Characterized by themes and techniques drawn from popular mass culture, such as advertising and comic books, pop art is widely interpreted as either a reaction to the then-dominant ideas of abstract expressionism or an expansion upon them. Pop art, like pop music, aimed to employ images of popular as opposed to elitist culture in art, emphasizing the banal or kitschy elements of any given culture. Pop art at times targeted a broad audience, and often claimed to do so.

Much of pop art is considered very academic, as the unconventional organizational practices used often make it difficult for some to comprehend. Pop art and minimalism are considered to be the last modern art movements and thus the precursors to postmodern art, or some of the earliest examples of postmodern art themselves
The intention of this work is to recognize and embrace the natural cycles of life, to arrange
our lives in collaboration with natural cycles, and in doing so, we can grow a greener, more
sustainable, integrated, and meaningful experience of our world. The Greenhouse Project
is intended to be an encounter that serves to reconnect and reawaken the participants to
take an active part in the universal, cyclical cycles of life. Through interaction, reflection,
and co-creation, the participants come to encounter themselves as part of the movement of
the Universe. When we awaken to the fact that we are collaborators with nature, we are
more effective in initiating and sustaining beneficial change in our world.

How can you get involved?

Contribute a 4-5 part series or a single piece of art in any medium, and spread the word!
I'm looking for any work that illustrates a natural process, however specifically or broadly
construed. The art could honor the elements, the seasons, any natural cycle involving
plants, water/rain, fire, etc., cycles of life, birth, and death, the passing of time, growth and
decay. Series in all mediums encouraged – paintings, sculptures, photographs, masks,
poems, found objects, natural things (rocks, flowers, plants, feathers) etc. Feel free to run
with it, cuddle with it, expand it, contract it, turn it upside down, inside out, tie it up, set it
free, whatever pleases you the most.

Art contributions made from recycled, reused, and natural materials are highly encouraged.

Other stuff needed:
exotic/tribal fabrics, sheer fabrics/scarves, prayer flags, extension cords, wind chimes, plant
pots, decorative containers, rocks, dried herbs, candles, candleholders, offering bowls,
bells, mirrors, christmas lights, el-wire, and any other miscellaneous items that fit with the
concept and spirit of the project.

Contribute NOW, in time for Flipside (www.burningflipside.com), or after
that, for Bonnaroo and Rainbow Gathering, or even after that,
for Burning Man (www.burningman.com). Play along at home and become a part of

Do you paint? Write poetry? Make erotic art sculptures of Dave
Chappelle? Well then this might be the thing for you!

DJ Death Squad Productions is putting on its first however-so-often-
it-happens White Elephant Art Swap. You give art. You get art. From
someone you totally don't even know! Interested? Follow this yellow
brick road of guidelines:

1) You must have an original artwork (any medium- words, paint,
tunes, etc.) in mind before you sign up, and you must give a detailed
description and/or photo with your sign up. To sign up send your full
name and mailing address to djdeathsquad@gmail.com. I will collect
around 50 names / artists before cutting off the swap. US addresses
only at the moment for postage / timing reasons, although I will be
organizing a worldwide art swap at a later date if this works out.
Artworks must be of your own original creation although
collaborations are still considered groovy.

2) The official swap will be held on March 10th, 2007. On this date
you will receive the mailing address of the person you should send
your artwork to. Your artwork must be mailed no later than March 20th.

3) On March 10th another artist will have received your mailing
address and will be sending you an artwork. This will not likely be
the same person you sent artwork to.

4) After the swap, if you would like to share a photo or comments
regarding the artwork, you can email them to me and I will slap them
up on a really sexy art swap community page I have yet to build.

Questions? Post 'em! I'm ready. Oh and please pass the word along!
Thanks!

Beginning in March next year, we are inviting 9 people to cruise from Bodrum, Turkey along the Turkish coast, Cyprus, Athens, Alexandria on a share expenses basis (very, very inexpensive). We began a documentary in Paris and Turkey last year, and now as it gets warmer in Turkey we are going to complete it. We have a US distributor, and everyone involved will share in profits. It could be quite profitable for you and a real life changer. We are in pre-production of three others...one on black jazz in Paris after WWII until now. We have a Turkish captain/crew/cook on our 70' Gulet, 6 double staterooms still available, all with their own head (toilet and shower). Qualifications? Simply to be able to get along with people. Age? Our producer is 60, our editor is 25. Age inmaterial if you are young in spirit. If you have video experience (HD MiniDV PAL and Final Cut Pro, writing) all the better, but we are doing this to perhaps expand the focus of our documentary which is based on the mystical aspects of Alexander the Great - Title: Force of Evidence. Creative people get free reign as long as they don't sink the ship or the project. We are interested to add some human interest...profound, provocative, funny...to the program, so film making experience in not a requirement. Come for a week or two months. Email me for details.

Hi

I participate in the exhibition "Democracy and Desire", masterminded by the Swedish artist Per Hüttner. The exhibition will take place at Vacio 9 in Madrid during 23rd of November 2006 to 8th of January 2007. The show does not quite work like other exhibitions. It will start out like a traditional photography exhibition, but during the run of the exhibition more and more texts and images will be added to the walls of the gallery. The exhibition will thus not be completed until it is over and You, the visitor to the gallery, are also encouraged to bring material that you feel is relevant to the topic to be included in the exhibition (more info about how this is done practically can be found on the website www. democraciaydeseo.com)

In conjunction with the exhibition I and my colleagues will do a series of events. The events, just like the exhibition, aspire to create a discussion about democracy and desire and how the two refer to one another.

I will arrange a Drag King performance which will be accompanied by a workshop. I think that Drag is a strong and significant expression that raise several questions about sexuality and who we really are. My purpose is to toss and turn concepts like gender, sexuality, feminism, lust and desire. I am looking for contributions and Your input is of greatest importance for me. I am very eager to get in touch with people, preferably in Spain/Madrid that is involved in these in Drag King activities or similar. If you are interested or know a group or person who would like to participate I would be eternally grateful if you could e-mail me at kakfras@gmail.com or forward the information to your friends and colleagues. The events will take place the last week of November. So I need to hear from you very soon.

Best regards
call for artists and actors and peacemakers in LOS ANGELES AREA

oct 5 world cant wait street protest march strike dont buy anything day protest the Bush agenda

on the way over to the meeting on the drive i thought why not
make this thing major fun..........Im helping this group put together with this protest thing and am asking 4 your help...

have EVERYONE who wanted to dress up as their very favorite peacemaker...or
favorite ideal person to which they would aspire to be it they could join
in in costume

....... i came up with this partial list of people we might want to include
in the "Peacemaker Section": thomas jefferson...John Lennon, ghandi, MLK,
MalcomX, jeeeeesus, jane fonda, Krisna, superman, army guys carrying
plowshares, castro, Fredrick Douglas, Florence Nightengale, the silver
surfer(thatll be me) your favorite rock stars, some guys in the V masks,
and here is place for someone who has a skit they want to include;

look at the 1st page of my website.....see the LA peacewheel i made
it was 9 ft high and i rolled it about 10 miles around LA until it finally disappeared and ended up on the Hollywood Sign for 2 days in may 06

think 9 feet high peacewheels

so the idea will be to make 4- 5 wheels: Think of this part of the
protest march as
a large piece of performance art....
everyone is asked
to participate who wants to

the first wheel ....one at the start of the parade of this art piece is
painted to look like a large gear....with the words WAR MACHINE on it.....a
second piece that goes with it will be a guy carrying a piece shaped like a
wedge that says on it COG

the next round rolling wheel piece is painted to look like the
earth....north america and part of europe on it

the next round rolling piece is a peacewheel (large peacsign) made like
feathers- think of the peacewheel i made on my website for this one...but
that looks like feathers

after that wheel, in-between the next wheel,
is the group of people abovementioned, whom ever wants to participate in it
and that is in costume...or has a skit that they want to perform.....in this
group is the peacemakers that i described above...MLK, ghandi, lennon ect...
and any celebrities we can find who want to get it....like maybe yoko is
someone i would try to contact...and some of our own local rock groups here
too....I know a few i can contact here...anyway the middle group is the
peacemakers group

the last wheel will be one with wcw logo and earth burning...and words like;
suggested are:

join with us now...peace is free ///or something like that
impeach bush and stuff

the last wheel is followed by bush cheney condi rummy etc in prison garb and
chains....and hearded by some cro-magnum types with clubs and dragging
knuckles....

followed by another group of the regularly dressed folks

In order to carry this out i will need several things to happen
...
all plans will be made and approved by committee of Erik, CB and me.....2/3 vote rules

assuming this is all doable....i will need to immediately send out call for
artists and performers to participate and act in character

EXAMPLE:

the idea is the parade starts with the 1st wheel and the COG is guy in front
of it ....say like some of the persons want to do a skit for the
media....they tell the cog to stop....the guy with the wedge puts it under
the war machine wheel....while the skit goes on...skit gets done...remove
cog and parade re-starts....and so on ...

thanks
stephen

Announcing the launch of my FREE Seth D8 art print source!

As an artisan I have two categories I work in, digital illustration and commercial graphic design. I have chosen to freely share my digital illustration with anyone whom would like a print. I have plenty of commercial clients to satisfy my financial needs, plus I know I will always have all of needs met in every way before I have even asked. I love sharing my digital illustration because when a person is drawn to a piece incidental love is created and the love of creation is reflected back to me. And I love, LOVE!

I have uploaded a large selection of my digital art in hi resolution format to shutterfly.com, I have also set up a page their to access and order the prints. They offer everything from 4x6 prints to 24x36 inch prints in amazing detail and color. You can even create your very own Seth D8 art book of your favorite pieces, all for very reasonable rates. The only cost involved is the production of the prints, and I do not get a cut or add a commission to the service. It is at cost, and my art is completely free for personal use.

Please feel free and browse my current selection and get prints of anything you like, and the best part is you get to be part of the creative process by choosing exactly the correct size and media to suit your need. I will be uploading new hi resolution images a couple times a month so be sure and subscribe to my new Artisantastic illustration RSS feed. When I produce a new image it is immeaditly added to the feed, so you will always be up to date with my latest creations. And believe me I am a prolific artist creating new pieces on a daily basis.

It's afiliated through Burners Without Borders which is a charity initiated by people from the Burning Man community. I volunteered to organize and curate a silent art auction that will take place in one of the rooms at The Mor.

Late, renowned African American artist Andrew Turner created this acrylic on canvas in 1974. It is an early work from the artist, making it an instant collectible. Turner's two favorite subjects were children and jazz scenes. This sepia-toned work is of an adorable little African American girl, sitting in slight repose. The canvas, on a wooden frame, is 16" X 12". The artist's original Chester, PA studio card is included, along with the dried masking tape the artist used to affix the card to the back of the piece. This has been in my collection since the early 90's, when Turner first rose to prominence. The frame faint outline is from Turner's signature ill-fitting frame against his work. This does not take away from the value of this collectible. Andrew Turner's life was tragic and short-lived, but his legacy lives on. The value will continue to appreciate.
Are there 10 fun tribe members out there interested in showcasing their creative talent(s) or amazing skill(s) at the closing celebration for the 2006 San Francisco Women’s Film Festival?

The event will be held on Sunday, April 30th at 111 Minna Gallery and we need the tribe community to participate to make this event a true gathering of the Tribes. Let's join forces to honor, support, and encourage women filmmakers everywhere!

You need not be a professional dancer, comedian, storyteller, magician, crafter, photographer, tarot card reader, masseur, cook, painter, etc. to be considered for a spot. If your skill is what pays your bills, that’s ok too as long as you do not expect to earn wages for this event.

Anyone with talent, a unique ability to do something strange or exceptionally well should apply! Send submission to fanny@tribe.net. Please include a picture or video clip with your email that displays your talent if available and include the following details.

Name:
Email:
Phone:
Talent (detailed description):

The talent we select will be limited to those we can accommodate in the space available at 111 Minna Gallery. Members outside of the San Francisco Bay Area are welcomed applicants but must provide their own transportation to the event. The 10 selected will each have a small designated area to display their dazzle. More details to come.
